Warm Blanket Retreats is utterly delighted to offer this retreat in collaboration with Lizzie's Insights Coaching. Like a warm blanket for your soul, you'll enjoy somatic practices to calm and ground, music and dance to awaken joy, EFT tapping to release old stories, and time for deep rest.

You'll leave with your cup full, your heart lighter, and your spirit more connected to the magic within.

Programme

Friday

3pm: Arrival, welcome, and nibbles. Settle into your room, explore the beautiful surroundings, come and chat and get to know us and each other a little if you like. Breathe. Release the outside world.

5.30pm: We'll gather for a welcome circle and flow into dinner.

6pm: Gather around the table for a simple but delicious dinner (and of course, dessert). Enjoy stimulating conversation. Ease into the weekend and wander off to relax in your room when you're ready for a restful sleep.

Saturday

Start your day as early or as close to breakfast as you like. Stretch. Walk. Wake up to the birds and the sound of the sea.

8am: Choose from a range of nourishing summery breakfast options to fuel you for the day.

9am: We begin our programme with a morning workshop blending somatic practices, EFT tapping, music and movement to release stories and open into clarity and courage.

12.30pm: Enjoy a nourishing lunch, chat about your morning's experiences. Then, the afternoon is free. Journal, nap, read, walk on the beach - the choice is yours.

4pm: Return for a focused 2-hour session continuing the morning's learning and journeying.

6pm: Gather around the table for a simple but delicious dinner (and of course, dessert!), relaxed conversation and sharing.

Simple. Easy. Delicious

Our vibe is 'bach', so our food fits that. It's simple, delicious, and plentiful. We have no chef, so everyone helps prepare and clean up one meal each. In a group of two or three people, you'll help prepare one meal and do one set of dishes. The rest of the time, someone else cooks for you, and someone else cleans up. Magic.

Breakfast

Start your day with the basics but at treat level. Fruit, toast, cereal, a warm drink or a zing of orange juice. You choose what will fuel you the best.

Lunch

A wrap, good bread, or croissants to fill with your choice of meats, cheeses, salads, and dressings. And of course lunch dessert is definitely a thing.

Dinner

A main dish with a selection of salads and accompaniments followed by a choice of dessert. Whatever it is, it's always delicious and always a choice.

Extras

Everyone needs a little extra sometimes, so we have a fruit bowl filled with fruit, and we do a good old-fashioned morning and afternoon tea with delicious hummus with some chopped up veg (yes, I know they're called crudites, but we're at the bach now, not a restaurant), a beautiful loaf from one of Whanganui's famous Savage Bakeries, and a bliss ball or two.

Allergies

If you're allergic to something, please let me know. I'll do my best to make the menu work around it. However, note that we have two small kitchens and group preparation. If you're really worried, it's probably best to bring your own food and prepare it separately. Let's discuss it - flick me an email and we'll find a way that suits and keeps you safe.

Vegan/vegetarian

Again, please let me know so we can work something out together.

Be aware that, unless the entire group is vegetarian or vegan, meat dishes will be served alongside vegetarian options. Let's discuss it - flick me an email and we'll find a way that suits and keeps your ethics intact and tastebuds happy.

Your hosts for this wonderful weekend

Hi, I'm Anna, of Warm Blanket Retreats. Nothing here is fancy or fussy, simply because I'm not, and these retreats are my personal haven too.

I know how it feels to be pulled in all directions and how hard it can be to justify taking time for yourself.

Last year, I longed for some time out from it all, somewhere cosy and real, surrounded by women who get it. I wanted something local and affordable. So, I created it; people loved it, and Warm Blanket Retreats was born.

I’m a real person who loves my kids, my dog, good writing, honest conversation, organising things, and the magic that happens when women get together. I particularly value honest connection and moments where you can take a breath and re-set.

Whether you’re arriving solo or with friends, I’m looking forward to meeting you and hanging out for a couple of days.

May the story shift for you.
